All too often in the video games industry QA is looked at as an unskilled position. Simply grab someone and put them down to spend hours looking for issues. This ignores the fact that testing is a talent. There are testing skills that can be trained, but the best testers have inherent talents that elevate their work. Populating a department with people who possess these talents improves the efficiency and efficacy of the QA department.
In this talk Nicholas will define the skill vs. talent difference as it applies to QA, the talents to be sought after, and the questions and tools used to identify those talents.
